Jon began his career with Stifel, Nicolas in Cincinnati Ohio over 16 years ago as a stockbroker. He knew that he would enjoy the world of finance much more if he could find a more client-focused approach to offering financial advice and began an exhaustive search for a more suitable firm. Having interviewed with the likes of Merrill Lynch, AG Edwards, Edward Jones, Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley, and AXA Advisors, Jon finally settled on Summit Financial Group of Cincinnati. 

In the fall of 2002, Jon was transferred to Lafayette, IN to operate a newly acquired financial planning firm. In the 5 years under his management, the firm grew an average of 70% per year in accounts and assets under management. In the spring of 2008, Jon decided to purchase the practice entirely and continue its growth.

Since coming to the Lafayette, West Lafayette Community, Jon has taught financial classes and been the keynote speaker for the Town of Delphi, Ivy Tech Community College, Sagamore Surgical Center, Rea Magnet Wire, Fisher’s United Methodist Church, and 2nd Street Baptist Church as well as numerous other companies, churches, and non-profit entities. Jon has also written articles for Doctors of Dentistry Magazine, Carmel Magazine, and been listed in the “Who’s Who of the Financial industry”. 

Jon and his wife Tammie have 3 children and live in Lafayette, IN.  Two of their children are in college at Purdue & Ivy Tech, and the third child is attending Central Catholic HS. Jon enjoys shooting and his wife enjoys shopping!

The philosophy 'We are always striving for better by learning from yesterday and applying what we know today.' influenced my decision to join Summit. In essence, it emphasizes continuous progress. It portrays growth as a journey rather than a goal. I chose to pursue a career in the financial services industry later in life to use my practical approach and life experience to help others.

My husband and I reside in White County and have four kids, which keeps us busy. They range from elementary age to one pursuing an Agricultural Sciences degree at Purdue University. When we find free time, we enjoy exploring new cities, camping, and the occasional motorcycle trip with friends. I believe the involvement of many strengthens the community, so I volunteer as a CASA for Tippecanoe County and the Lyn Treece Boys & Girls Club.

Tyler Hardt, CFA, is a Chief Portfolio Manager for Pelican Bay Capital Management and Moran Wealth Management®. Mr. Hardt is responsible for the Concentrated Value and Dynamic Income Allocation Portfolios. Mr. Hardt has 15 years of investment management experience and has been a Portfolio Manager at Pelican Bay Capital Management since founding the firm in 2018. Prior to founding Pelican Bay Capital Management, Mr. Hardt spent nine years as an Equity Analyst on the Domestic Value Team at Artisan Partners Asset Management. He has also held Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Strategy roles at AT&T and American Tire Distributor. Mr. Hardt received his MBA with Honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Mr. Hardt is a CFA Charterholder and a Board Member of the Naples CFA Society. He is also the author of Value Investing: A Disciplined Framework. Mr. Hardt lives with his family in Naples, Florida.
